Books! Books! Books!
This is the cover of a new booklet for Kalmbach Publishing which features two of my brick stitch designs. The book is available through their website: http://kalmbachcatalog.stores.yahoo.net/12341.html. One of my designs is on the cover, the upper right is mine. It is always so exciting to see your designs in print. A few years ago I took a private lesson along with my friend Linda, on the brick stitch with Diane Fitzgerald http://www.dianefitzgerald.com/ . We were lucky that Diane lives in the Twin Cities and has a shop in Minneapolis. If you ever get a chance to take lessons with her, DO, she is an amazing jewelry designer and teacher.
I also just got Donna Kato's new book, The Art of Polymer Clay, Creative Surface Effects. Wow!!! She is a great friend and such a talent. I also have a design featured in the book. Donna was one of the first polymer clay designers I met years ago when I was just starting out in the design world and she was so gracious in answering all my many questions. I still count on her today for advice and inspiration. You can get an autographed copy of her book at her website: http://www.prairiecraft.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=APC2&Category_Code=B
The big news of the day is that the maeduep shop is going to teach me Korean knotting! Here is their website: http://www.hanminjock.com/. They are located in Seoul and I was concerned about getting there without getting lost. Hellena, from our relocation agency, to the rescue. She is going to pick me up at my apartment and take me to the class. She will also stay until the class is finished and take me home. I can not tell you how relieved that makes me and how grateful I am to the Delaney Agency. They have always gone above and beyond to make sure our needs are met. The class is on Thursday and I'll be sure to bring my camera. I hope I can take a few classes.
I am also working on a couple of book proposals so I've been come quite busy. Life is good!
