What You Would Never See on a Wall in a T.G.I. Friday's Restaurant Back in the U.S.

Seen on the wall of our local T.G.I. Friday's here in Suwon, South Korea.

Ha! I would probably feel compelled to say something (though I'd have to look up the word first).

When I was there I saw several girls wearing shirts that said "World Famous Abscess" in swoopy embroidered letters. I asked one girl once what she thought it meant, and she said "Something about ABC?"

My students show up with the strangest things on their T-shirts. Silly and harmless, but nonsensical.

Once they are in the US awhile they opt for clothing bought here and there goes the fun. I was told they don't really care what it says as long as it's in English which seems to be the same at the Korean T.G.I. Friday's.

Love your blog and your take on things.

Helena: My parents would just die to see something like that at a restaurant.

Irishlace: It's true that the Koreans just love the English, not whether it is obscene or even makes sense.

Holly; I was so busy eating that Curt had to point it out. Good thing I never leave home without my camera.

Ann: Can you imagine a restaurant doing that in the U.S? They would be sued in a minute. Not here. I'm still trying to find out what lawyers to here. My Korean friends say you can't sue for anything.
