Change Is Coming

After many emotional discussions between my husband and I, we are decided to return to the United States. It wasn't any one thing that was the deciding point but more of a decision that it is time. I miss my family. My grandson has gone from a baby to a toddler and my kids, even though they are grown, I think they still need their mama from time to time.

Since we decided to move back, we proceeded with implementing the move as quick as possible. We fly out of Korea on April 4th. I have completed my last maedeup and chilbo lessons, leaving my teachers with tears streaming down my face. I have a week left with my Korean friends but I also have to decide on what goes ocean, air or in the suitcases. The movers are coming on April 2nd.

Korea has forever changed this Midwest girl and I will never forget the time I have spent here. I have made many lifetime friends. I've had to endure some hardships which can come from living in a different culture but the good vastly outweighs the bad.

I still have a lot to say about Korea and the updates will continue. It's time for a new adventure!

It is really too bad that you are leaving korea, i would have really liked to meet you. However, i can see how a decision like this is something that must have been weighing on your mind.

I hope all goes smoothly for you in your move :).

That's quick! I can understand the mixed feelings. Did you finish your chilbo chest?

Good luck with the move!

I also would have loved to meet you.....but I have really enjoyed getting to know you through your blog. You have had a different experience than I have in Korea - you have had to delve into their culture and daily way of life (and done it well), where I have had at least some expat interaction on a daily basis. In other words, we all need someone to talk to sometimes and it can't always be our husbands. I will be returning to Texas by the end of this year and look forward to it immensely. But returning is bittersweet, isn't it? Anyway, I will continue to follow you as long as you continue to write. Good luck on the transition and hope to see you on HGTV someday demonstrating chilbo or maedeup!!
